What an excellent day we had at our Conference at Nordern Farm last week!

A BIG THANK YOU to our speakers: Claire Milne (WAMCLT), Fiona Brown (Collaborative Homes Oxfordshire), Sue Riddlestone OBE (Bioregional), and Andrew Bailie (Roostrent.com) who offered inspiring illustrations of what and how CLTs and community led affordable homes can really help to support healthy communities. Talks showing real examples of successful schemes from around the country prove that it can be done, and we were delighted to be able to spread the word to some of the people in the Borough who can help us to make it happen.

Also thank you to all who attended. We were delighted that Councillors, Council Officers, representatives of a Housing Association, technology companies, as well as some potential home occupants were able to join us. They enthusiastically pitched in with discussions on lifting barriers and how together we can create the conditions that will better enable CLTs here in RBWM.

Nordern Farm Long Barn is a great venue and we were well looked after on the day with refreshments and lunch. Thanks to Rob, who knowledgably sorted out those inevitable but stressful tech issues, so that everything ran very smoothly.

Finally, thank you for the support from the National Lottery Community Fund for believing in our cause and funding this Conference and our other recent  communication activities for our Festival of events.

Watch this space for our next steps. We plan some more visits to other schemes which we hope to do by the end of August.  Contact us for more information.
